Eagle Rare is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, made from the distillery's Mashbill #1. The 12 Year Old joined the permanent range in 2025: aged for at least twelve years and bottled at 47.5% ABV (95 proof), a step up in age and strength from the 10 Year Old.
Sweet caramel, toasted oak, almonds and a delicate orange peel on the nose. The palate is denser and firmer than the 10 Year Old, with bold brown sugar, toffee, vanilla extract and dark cherry. The finish is long, warming and slightly dry, with leather, baking spices and dark oak tannin.
